Meet With An Academic Advisor

Working with an academic advisor is one of the most important things you can do as a first-year student. Your First-Year Advisor can assist you with tasks like choosing a major, registering for classes, and connecting you with academic resources and opportunities. Academic advising is more than just classes and policies. Our goal is to help you find your place in Texas State University’s academic community.

Advising Appointment Update

All incoming students will meet one-on-one with an academic advisor this summer as part of New Student Orientation (NSO). Our standard appointments will resume in August. For assistance after your NSO advising session, connect with our Academic Help Desk.
